What is semi permanent make up and what to expect?
Semi Permanent make-up, also known as permanent make-up or micropigmentation, is a form of tattoo sometimes known as ‘cosmetic tattooing'. Due to its lasting and natural appearance, semi-permanent make-up can beautify or enhance existing features, such as brows, eyes or lips by adding colour and definition in a subtle yet precise way.
During the procedure pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin using a digital tattoo machine and very fine needle. A procedure can take up to two hours depending on the type of design being applied.
Very few experience discomfort – but anaesthetic cream is applied to further minimise any inconvenience. Design appear darker immediately following treatment however once healed, a semi-permanent make-up design will lighten up between 30% and 50%.
It worth noting that semi permanent make-up naturally fades over time and as such you will need top-ups every 12 to 18 months.
